Dogs

I just have to write a quick note about my dogs. I can't imagine my life without them. As weird as it sounds, they do bring us so much joy. With that, they also bring me so much frustration and a major headache! Last night, one of our sweet sitters, Mary Katherine, came over to watch Alex while we had dinner with friends (Drew & Rebecca, Brandon & Hayley) at Vino http://www.vinobirmingham.com/ (must try if - you have not). I was worried that Alex might be a handful since he didn't take a nap and had been a little cranky. No - he was not the problem. Let me just tell you that all the texts I got from MK at dinner were regarding the dogs? Really?? I'm pretty sure we hired a babysitter...and not a dogsitter. Alex was an angel (well, in his own "angelic" way). Nonetheless, she would text.."They are both barking really loud, what should I do, Alex is trying to sleep?" Ugh. Can they not behave? So then she put them outside, the continued to bark, scratch the door, etc. Needless to say, she got a good tip for putting up with those two. Next time, maybe I should hire a dog sitter AND a babysitter. At that point, would it even be worth it to go out? Yes. Breaks from home and dinner with friends = priceless. Let's just hope she comes back.
